Leaving a Legacy for the Future . . .

We’re Expanding! Sixty years ago, a group of individuals with a vision purchased and developed the land that is now Wesley Woods Camp & Retreat Center. Since that time, it has been a premier place for summer youth camping and adult retreats in southwest Michigan. With250% growth in the number of summer campers over the past twelve years, there is an increasing need for more programming space and dining facilities. We recognize the importance of both, feeding people physically and spiritually. This unprecedented growth has presented great challenges in these areas.

We have been blessed with many volunteers and devoted friends who have increased sleeping space for campers by raising funds and building nine new cabins, but we lack adequate space for programming and meals. Our Chapel, which seats 140, is often filled with more than 230 campers and staff during our summer morning worship. Our Dining Hall seats only 136, so we have to seat up to 120 campers and staff outside under tents. The kitchen and prep areas were originally designed to prepare meals for groups of up to 96, so it is less than half the size needed to serve our numbers. With these challenges come great responsibilities. We need to provide more programming, worship, and dining space to accommodate our increasing constituency, and leave a legacy for future generations.

We plan to expand our existing Dining Hall and build a new Worship/Multi-purpose Center. Doing so will maximize our effectiveness in ministering to those who already attend summer camp, and also reach a greater number of campers year-round. We cannot meet this challenge alone - we need your help! The Buy a Brick; Build a Faith campaign is a campaign that will raise funds for both projects simultaneously. Your contributions will help us move toward a better equipped, more useful facility that will allow us to “Impact Lives with Jesus Christ”, and leave a legacy for the next 60 years of ministry.

• Legacy Leader - Do you have the gift for sharing needs with others? Have you been impacted by Wesley Woods in your own life? Consider volunteering to be a Legacy Leader. Share the story of Wesley Woods and its impact on individuals and families. Motivate others to give and lead efforts in your local church.
   
• Legacy Raiser - Are you good with finances? Do you have a passion for organization? Consider getting involved as a Legacy Raiser. You can help raise funds and promote awareness of the campaign in your local church.
   
• Legacy Planner - Do you plan the best birthday parties in town? Consider becoming a Legacy Planner. You would assist in planning events that would generate interest in the ministry at Wesley Woods, and its mission.

The Program

We need to raise 1.8 million dollars; see how you can help!

• Be a Friend - An individual or family can become a “Friend of Wesley Woods” by giving a gift of any amount.
   
• Buy a Brick - A gift of $250 will purchase a 4 x 8 inch brick engraved with a legacy of your choosing. We can meet our goal if we are able to buy 7,200 bricks.
   
• Buy a Block - Churches and organizations are encouraged to get involved by purchasing an 8 x 8 inch block with their organization’s name for a gift of $1,000. It would take approximately 1,800 blocks to reach our goal.
