Time - Talent - Treasure - Testimony

Wesley Woods Summer Camp for kids from 1st-12th grade is a servant supported ministry. From the design and staffing of each week of program to the year-to-year maintenance of the facilities and even the building of new cabins, an army of volunteers is needed to make camp happen. As a site, we are expected to function within the limits of our operating income, with only a small subsidy from the Camp Endowment Fund to supplement property needs. Without the gifts of time, talent, treasure and testimony from people like you, many projects could never happen. Wesley Woods has a tradition of people, in an attitude of service, coming together to create a unique experience, a home away from home, for children to encounter the Good News of God's love and grace. In this setting of natural beauty, a Christian community is created weekly throughout the summer. Connections are made that last a lifetime, both to God and other people. Please consider helping to support our efforts to improve this 'place set apart' to God's glory in one of the following

Time:
One of the most important forms of service needed by this ministry is prayer. We want to develop a team of people who will receive monthly reports and prayer requests concerning a variety of issues. Time spent in prayer for the spiritual development of children and adults will have big benefits for all concerned.

Talent:
As a volunteer based organization, the skills and talents of those willing to serve are crucial to our mission - Changing Lives In Christ. All of our weeks summer camp need dedicated folks to make it happen. Our new cabins are all being built by volunteer labor.

Treasure:
We are a fee for service based ministry - That means that the majority of our budgetary expenses must be paid for by the fees we charge for our services. Only the Director's salary and a small amount of earnings from an endowment come from the Conference as support.
Since our occupancy is high and we are growing, we are now able to maintain properly and plan new enhancements to program every year.
Our growth in service has outstripped the ability of physical plant to accommodate our program. We have a variety of capital projects under way and more planned for the future. These will have to be paid for in advance by those who believe in the value of this place and the opportunities it provides for all who come.

Testimony:
There is nothing more valuable to a ministry than the willingness of people who will tell others about the importance of it's work and mission. Word of mouth is gold. We have no large advertising budget. We do not know everyone that you do. The personal stories that demonstrate what can happen at camp or retreat reside in your head - please tell someone.

More Opportunities

Adopt-A-Cabin:
The spring time ritual of getting camp ready for heavy use is a task far too large for the year round staff alone. To meet this need, congregations have committed to helping us during this busy time by adopting/sponsoring an individual cabin or other building. This responsibility involves scheduling a time in April or May for their group to come to Wesley Woods for a day of cleaning and repair. A letter will be sent in advance by the staff describing the particular needs of the cabin and the approximate cost of the project to be raised by the church. Please call to sign up for a cabin. It is a great ministry!

Buy-A-Log, Build-A-Faith:
Wesley Woods has experienced explosive growth in the past five years and most of our cabins are over 75 years old. Adding to our capacity and replacing old cabins is a priority if we plan to meet the expectations of today's camper. If you can help us, as an individual or a church, raise the $17,000 replacement cost of a cabin (or buy one log for $100) you will be investing not just in logs but in the faith formation of thousands of youth for years to come. A comfortable and pleasing 'home' for the week helps create an openness to the Gospel message we strive to communicate to each camper.

If you think you might be able to be involved in one of these ways, please consider contacting us. We look forward to talking with you. info@wesleywoodscamp.com
